Bereavement Care
St Mark's Bereavement Care Group was formed to provide support, understanding and a listening ear to those in the parish who have been bereaved.
The group makes contact with bereaved families a few weeks after the funeral service, offering to visit if this would be helpful.
They will also send personal invitations to those who have been bereaved during the past year to attend a Service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance, which is held every autumn.
At this service, bereaved families can write the name of their family member or friend in a book which is placed on the altar during the service. They can also light a candle in memory of their loved one. The service is open to everyone in the hope that all can find peace and solace in a time of remembrance.
This years Service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance is being held on Sunday 17th October at 6.30pm
