Meeting together
An important part of our vision at St Mark's is to live out our passionate faith as a vibrant community. This means we really value our time together and meet regularly in a wide range of settings. Some of these events are centred around worship and prayer whilst others are designed to develop a sense of fellowship.
House Groups
Many people like to belong to a house group where they can build relationships with each other and learn more about their relationship with God through Bible Study and prayer. Home groups often arrange shared meals, trips to the cinema or theatre and support of others working overseas.
If you are interested in joining a house group, please speak with Brian or Sue.
Courses
From time to time we run courses to help members of the Church Family explore the impact that their Christian faith has on their lives, or to be better equipped to serve God in various roles.
We hold Alpha Courses regularly too, both for those who want to explore Christianity for the first time and also for those who have been coming to church for a while and are seeking to refresh their understanding of their Christian faith.
Men's and Women's Groups
Markswomen meets regularly on Monday evenings with a varied programme of speakers and activities and regular Bible Study.
Menmeet brings men together for various activities, including regular evening meals, relaxation at a local pub and an annual ten pin bowling evening.
Parish Weekend
Every 3 years we organise a 'Parish Weekend' led by an outside speaker, to help the Church Family to grow in their Christian lives and to build relationships with one another. We spend the weekend at the Ashburnham Christian Conference Centre and include time for prayer and worship, talks and group work for adults, children's activities, walks, games and, of course, eating together.
Social and Sporting Activities
Our Fellowship Team organises a range of informal events so that people can meet one another and build relationships in a relaxed atmosphere. These include quiz nights, local walks and fish and chip suppers.
St Mark's also has table tennis and ten pin bowling teams that take part in local inter-church competitions – always on a friendly basis, of course! If you would like to find out more about these teams contact
