Community
St Mark's aims to be an outward looking church. This means that we want to be connected to - and involved with - our local community in as many ways as we can to share and demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ.
There are two local primary schools in the parish where our Children and Family Worker is especially involved. St Mark's Primary School is our church linked school and members of St Mark's sit on the governing body and take weekly acts of worship there. We also have links with Broadwater School, and value the opportunities these schools bring us to support families in the local community.
The Number One Community Centre, set up by St Mark's Church and Broadmead Church twenty years ago, is an important hub of social activity and support in the Showfields and Ramslye areas of the parish. Volunteers from St Mark's Church are involved as Trustees and in administration, as well as running some of it's activities.
Members of our Church Family also support community projects and charitable organisations within the Tunbridge Wells area and volunteer to be part of ecumenical initiatives such as the Street Pastor scheme.
Being an outward looking church means that we also support Mission work outside of our parish. We support - both financially and in prayer - a wide range of Christian Organisations who are seeking to help grow God's kingdom both in the UK and overseas.
