St Mark's School
St Mark’s Church of England Voluntry Controlled Primary School is our parish school, founded in 1872. It is a friendly and caring school - one in which is it possible to know every child, from the youngest to the oldest. The school gives a high priority to Christian values which permeate the curriculum. Social, moral and spiritual education is very important; the school seeks to always put the needs of its children first.
The church liaises regularly with the school, leading weekly Collective Worshp, supporting the RE curriculum and hosting annual school services at the churc for Harvest, Easter and Christmas, as well as The Leavers Service in July.
There are three foundation governors; Brian Fortnum, the vicar, Sue Diggory, the curate and Tony Gammon, who is also vice-charman of the the Governing Body. Louise Warner, our Children and Families Worker is also involved on a reguar basis.
We welcomed Robin Dungate as our new Head Teacher in September 2011.
